Turtle Beach Announces Atlas Line of PC Gaming Headsets

Turtle Beach has unveiled a new line of gaming headsets directed specifically at PC gamers. Unlike the bass-heavy focus of most gaming headsets meant to emphasize higher frequency response, the Atlas series features audio tuning and engineering based on feedback from professional esports teams Astralis and OpTic Gaming.

"Every player is unlike, merely we have tuned the Atlas series to allow players to hear the details in their game'due south environments and opposing team's movements," said Nick Bourne, Director of Product Management & Partnerships at Turtle Embankment. "This tuning was a straight effect of over a year of working closely with Astralis and OpTic, developing and testing the sound profiles beyond a multitude of the well-nigh played PC titles."

The Atlas line includes three gaming headsets: the Atlas I, Atlas Iii, and Aristocracy Atlas. All three models are wired stereo headsets that connect to PCs or game systems through a 3.5mm connection.

The headsets each feature metallic-reinforced headbands and false leather-covered memory cream earpads with Turtle Beach's ProSpecs technology. ProSpecs incorporate a softer section of foam along the temples to reduce pressure on the heads of spectacles-wearing users.

The models are designed for utilise with PCs, but come with accessories for desktops, laptops, and other game syystems. There are short principal cables with a four-pole three.5mm connector for modern game consoles, handhelds, mobile devices, and laptops, along with longer extension cables with ii iii-pole 3.5mm connectors for desktops with separate headphone and microphone ports.

The Atlas I is the entry-level model in the series, with a unproblematic design and a $49.95 price tag. It'southward the most basic headset in the line, with the aforementioned features and a permanently attached primary cable.

The Atlas Three is a $79.95 step-upwards model based on the Turtle Beach Stealth 300 headset. Its biggest stardom is a congenital-in headphone amplifier offer multiple blaster presets, including a vocalism-enhancing Vocal Boost mode. Different the other two models, information technology requires power from its internal bombardment to bulldoze the amp, and so it can charge through a micro USB port with an included cable. According to Turtle Embankment, the Atlas Iii can terminal upwardly to 40 hours on a accuse.

The Elite Atlas is the flagship model in the new Atlas line, and is heavily based on the Editors' Choice Turtle Embankment Elite Pro Tournament Headset. While it lacks the Atlas Three'due south amp and bombardment requirements, the Elite Atlas features 50mm drivers, a much more than plush and premium-feeling design, and removable fabric-wrapped headset cables. At $99.95 it'due south the most expensive Atlas headset, but it's simply one-half the price of the Aristocracy Pro.

So far we've tested the Elite Atlas, and it demonstrates the same excellent build quality and comfortable fit that made us similar the Elite Pro. The gaming-focused audio tuning is very useful for gaming, but nosotros noticed that it makes for a less-than-stellar musical experience due to the relative under-representation of the lower frequencies. Information technology doesn't sound bad, simply rather a very sculpted audio that's not counterbalanced for music.

All 3 Turtle Beach Atlas headsets will be bachelor this September.
